We had a great stay in Protea Cottage.
We had a great time. Children enjoyed it immensely.
My whole family really enjoyed their stay. Great location, clean and quiet. All the facilities you could ever need. Would definitely recommend the accommodation and would return in the future.
Thank you so much, Elsa, for allowing us to stay in your lovely place! The cottage is situated high up against the mountain, providing 180-degree sea views from almost every room in the house. The kitchen is extremely well-equipped with everything you need to prepare a meal. We had an amazing time and will definitely return. I haven't had such a relaxed holiday in a very long time!
We enjoyed a lovely weekend away. On Friday evening the wind was very strong and it improved the winter evening nicely. The house is just spacious enough and nice and cozy, especially with the fireplace and the nice and comfortable rocking chairs. It was definitely a nice surprise. Will return anytime.
The house stands against the mountain with unlimited views of the sea and mountains behind. It is peace and quiet par excellence. Everything we needed was there.
Nice place to sleep for a night or 2. For longer stays, a TV will have to be added because there is little entertainment for teenagers in the town! If mist unrolls in the evening it will be nice to watch a good movie after a nice barbecue and dinner!
Just a few suggestions. Maybe add a picture of the stairs. Add safety gates to top and bottom of stairs. Maybe add a splash pool in front of the house.

The best house for breakaways. This is like our second home. The surroundings and location is perfect. Elna is just one friendly person. We just love this place.
Amazing views, but the area can be very a windy especially in winter time. Not the ideal swimming beach, but we spent 5 days traveling up to Hermanus to the one side and Rooi-els to the other. Restful getaway and fairly well prepared for loadshedding which we got everyday.

Just look at the driveway in front of the garages. Difficult to get there with a car due to many stones and loose soil.
Key was on time. House was neat and everything we needed was there. Hot water, good bathrooms and rooms were better than expected.

If there were assistance to get us closer to the beach that would have been amazing but nevertheless it was amazing. You guys had everything we needed in the cottage.
Protea Cottage is the cutest holiday cottage with everything you need to spend a weekend away. I just wouldn't recommend it for the elderly or disabled as the steps leading to the bedrooms are a bit steep, but for younger families it's perfect. Thank you Elsa for the friendly reception.

Protea Cottage is very comfortably furnished. It has beautiful views of the mountain and the sea.
We were on our annual holiday and came down from KZN. How very neat and clean. We are active athletes so a small washing machine would have helped a lot during our stay. The porch is not sheltered from the wind, if the owner might later want to put up more shelter it will help a lot if you want to barbecue outside. But overall it was really nice.

House clean and tidy with everything you need. Lovely indoor fireplace for colder days. Cute coffee shop in Betties Bay with good restaurants in Kleinmond - Kabel Jo's is recommended with a coffee shop/bakery right next to them for delicious food. Fantastic walking trails at Kogelberg Nature Reserve as well as Harold Porter Botanical Garden. Note that there is a cleaning fee (payable directly to hostess) of R200 which does not appear on the website - see it only after you have paid on the proof of payment.
We loved staying here, the place has so many extras not mentioned in the description of the place. The photos do this beautiful place no justice. So spacious and clean. The scenery from the bedroom windows is amazing.

The place is very clean, cosy and well maintained. Furnished and complete with cutlery, bedding etc. All you have to bring is yourself and food. The sea views and mountains are amazing.

Elsa and her Mom were wonderful in taking care of us, especially in the face of the unexpected baboon invasion. Entirely my fault since I left the back door open. Seriously though, be aware that the gorgeous views from the mountainside mean that you are in a baboon area. Take care!
The oldest and surely most beautiful building of the area. Very comfortable living room and a garden with a braai area.
We had everything we needed, were within 7 minutes of Kleinmond shops, right on the mountain with beautiful views.

Had a lovely stay here over the December holidays. Only negatives would be the exposure to wind and the potential baboon risk, otherwise cottage is lovely, clean and well fitted out.
